              <p>Dans le domaine de la physique de l'interaction des lasers très intenses avec la matière, des champs électriques supérieurs au teravolt par mètre (1 TV = 10^12 V) peuvent être obtenus à partir de cibles gazeuses ou solides. Ces champs électriques extrêmes permettent l'accélération efficace de particules dans le régime relativiste. Les propriétés exceptionnelles (brièveté, charge, énergie et émittance) de ces nouvelles sources de particules de plusieurs MeV ouvrent la voix à des recherches transdisciplinaires dont la physique des accélérateurs, la réactivité préthermique dans la matière molle, la radiobiologie et radiothérapie ou l'imagerie. Les enjeux de la femtochimie des hautes énergies seront abordés à travers l'eau, « le solvant de la vie ».</p>
